Douglas J. Masson
Mr. Masson is the firm’s managing partner and is in charge of litigation matters for the firm’s clients. His practice is primarily in the areas of municipal law, civil litigation, and insurance defense. Along with Mr. Salsbery, he serves as the County Attorney for Tippecanoe County government. He is a 1993 graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio; and graduated cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana in 1996. He is a member of the Tippecanoe County Bar Association, the Indiana Bar Association, and the American Bar Association and is admitted to practice before all Indiana state courts, the Southern District of Indiana, Northern District of Indiana, 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Masson worked for the Indiana General Assembly’s Legislative Services Agency, first as staff attorney with the Office of Bill Drafting and Research where his duties included serving as staff counsel for the House Commerce Committee, House Transportation Committee, and House Public Safety Committee; and later as Deputy Director of the Office of Code Revision. Because of his past legislative experience, Mr. Masson maintains his well-regarded Masson’s Blog: A Citizen’s Guide to Indiana which primarily focuses on the activities of the Indiana General Assembly.
He was a board member and past president of the Legal Aid Corporation of Tippecanoe County (2005-2011); a board member of Shared Enterprise Management, Inc. which runs the Howarth Center (2009 – 2011); and has been a recreational league soccer coach for the Greater Lafayette Recreational Soccer Alliance since 2010.
